A 6-month payback period is manageable for a SaaS business with low churn but unsustainable for an e-commerce brand with thin margins. Cash flow determines how long you can afford to wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Marketing Efficiency Ratio (MER)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>MER \u2014 total revenue divided by total marketing spend \u2014 is replacing ROAS as the preferred north-star metric for sophisticated marketing teams.
